& Consulting Center
Throughout the year, CNHA
conducts
trainings & develops resources to assist Native-serving
organizations and communities access valuable funding and community
building initiatives. Since 2001, CNHA trained over 1,500 participants
at trainings conducted on a year-round schedule throughout
Hawaii and the Pacific Region, bringing over $16 million of funds into
our community.

to eligible organizations with projects that strengthen, support and
nurture the Hawaiian culture and community.

The Administration for Native
Americans
(ANA) Grants Program is a competitive grant program administered by the
Administration for Native Americans, the only federal agency serving
all Native peoples of the United States and its territories.
ANA
is a program office under the Administration
for Children and Families, housed under the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services (HHS).

Alaska
Native/Native Hawaiian
Institutions Assisting Communities (AN/NHIAC) Grant Program was
established to assist institutions of higher education to expand their
role and effectiveness in addressing community development needs in
their localities by partnering with community-based organizations on
initiatives that support neighborhood revitalization, housing, and
economic development, principally for persons of low and moderate
income. CNHA coordinates grant training workshops throughout the state
of Hawaii in preparation for the AN/NHIAC program deadline.
The Department of Hawaiian
Home Lands
(DHHL) announced the Native American Housing Assistance and
Self-Determination Act
(NAHASDA) Community Grant Program in the fall of 2003 to make resources
available to non-profits and other organizations to implement
affordable housing-related projects in Hawaiian Homestead communities.
CNHA was contracted by DHHL to provide no-cost training workshops
year-round and statewide to help promote the grant program and to
assist applicants to apply. For more information click here.

Resource Corner
These products provide
announcements on
current news stories about topical issues facing Native communities
across the country. It is extremely popular among members and
organizations and is delivered through an electronic database. Over
1,000 Native news stories from around the country and U.S. territories
have been distributed. Of most interest to recipients are news clips on
education, federal recognition, national initiatives, and cultural

The CNHA Resource Directory is
a reference
booklet that provides information on local resources and contacts in
the Pacific for community organizations. It contains standard
information, such as agency contacts to establish an entity, funding
and technical assistance resources. Its purpose is to support
communities in finding the assistance they may need and to leverage
multiple funding sources for their projects and programs.
