Welcome to the website of the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA).
As you access information on the Council and the work we are engaged in, we welcome your input and energy to the effort of advancing Native Hawaiian culture and knowledge in Hawaii and beyond our shores.
As an advocate and practitioner of community development, we believe that the strength of Hawaiian communities strengthens the communities around us and makes Hawaii a better place. Much of the work of the Council centers on providing excellent platforms for the various sectors of health, affordable housing, economic development, education and cultural knowledge to strengthen the other.
You will find among the pages of this site, our past efforts, our current projects and our hopes for the future. Our programming involves a Grant & Training Institute, a Public Policy Center, Intermediary and Consulting Services, the Hawaiian Way Fund and as important, our Social Enterprises.
We strive to be servant leaders in our communities in all that we do, by providing quality services that unify and empower the talent of so many incredible organizations and agencies, all focused on one component or another of the broader category that is Community Development. Whether language or education programs, the work of community associations or housing providers, we are committed to serving the warriors of community development and enhancing their ability to reach and impact the well-being of Native Hawaiians.
Mahalo nui to each of our members, our sponsors and clients and the numerous partners that make a difference every day and believe in the power and unity of Native Hawaiian communities. And perhaps most important to all of us at CNHA, we are thankful for the opportunity to serve so many amazing and inspiring community-based organizations.
Malama Pono,
